Breathe that fresh air deeply during your holidays in the Landes and make the most of 4 amazing beaches: Les Estagnots, Les Bourdaines, Le Penon and Les Casernes. They continue directly out from the beaches of Hossegor for a distance of 6 km. And they also have the advantage of being patrolled from June to September. All of them have showers, bike racks, straw huts serving food and drink and surf schools right next to the surfing areas.
Don't miss: Walking the dunes, from the beach of Le Penon. A 30 minute walk along a wooden walkway on stilts overlooking the beach, with the Pyrenees in the background. And all the way along the trail, there are spots where you'll find explanations concerning the fragile environment of the sand dunes.
Year after year, the surfing locations of Seignosse and Hossegor welcome thousands of surfers from all over the world for the QUIK PRO French championships. So do you fancy acquainting yourself with this region's truly mind-blowing sport? Then head straight for the surf schools for your surf lessons and training.
In Seignosse you'll also find the biggest aquatic park in the Landes: Atlantic Park. Paddling pools, waterslides, playgrounds, heated lagoons, whirlpool baths, counter-current swimming, waterfalls and a solarium beneath the parasols. People of all ages just looking to get away from it all and people who are looking for some proper excitement will be in their element here!
On one side there's the white lake, on the other, the black one. Two different colours for two different vibes! The white lake really is white! So why not just hire a little boat or canoe for a bit of an outing or a spot of fishing? Make the most of the total peace, with wild ducks all around, making for a truly unique experience. The black lake is different. It's black because it's deeper, which makes it somewhat mysterious to look at. Here, you'll find turtles, dragonflies, woodpeckers, otters and more. It's got a real tropical feeling and children will just love it.
