« To slightly misquote the famous football manager Brian Clough - "I wouldn't say Sylvamar was the worst site I have stayed on but it's in the top one". Reasons - we were given an awful pitch to start with, we asked for and paid for a 10m by 10m pitch. The one we were given was 10 m by 7.5 m and had a tree in it, further reducing the available pitching area for a VW Transporter and caravan and awning ... impossible to get on it. The chap at reception did his best to get us another pitch (but couldn't guarantee we could actually have any of these as his manager had to okay this - she would be back in an hour after lunch -as it turned out none of these were suitable either). The manager returned after about 90 minutes and we eventually spoke with her. We had booked for 10 nights and I said we would happily have a refund and go elsewhere if they couldn't find a suitable pitch (it was a busy old weekend and the site was pretty full). She advised we could not have a refund (I think Visa would have easily given us a refund which I openly said to my wife at the time - we had photographed the pitch which could barely fit the Transporter and the caravan on it never mind an awning as well). At this juncture we were offered a few more pitches and one of them was excellent. So, after 3 hours of stress we finally could pitch up. Ironically during our stay I spoke with our neighbour who had had exactly the same experience with a pitch they could not fit on... As to the site, I think we are not the demographic they want - we like peace and quiet after 11pm and for the final few nights (we actually left two days early) they put four families on the two pitches opposite us who were up partying to 0200 hours. We were asked upon leaving why we didn't go to security at the front of the site (a ten minute walk each way at 2am)? Shouldn't security be out doing this anyway? Plus, potentially we could then be subjected to grief from the neighbours as it would be pretty obvious who had complained. In summary - we will never go near this site again... »

« The camsite is very noisey, children runing around, shouting and screaming, cycling up and down the access roads until gone 01:00 in the morning. The security do nothing to prevent this. The website states silence from 23:00 but this is far from it. »

« Words could not describe the experience we had at suposed to be premium pitch, absolute in desperate need of repair and maintenance especially the bathroom and shower door leaking smell small sink door rotten hanging lob sideways mice vermin running under the hut No grass just sand nightmare to keep your vehicle clean and your caravan constantly brushing. We made a formal complaint at reception and we are requesting a refund for what we call holiday from hell, the camping pitch was just the start of this knighmere. I was surrounded by teenagers who I asked politely to move away from are pitch at 11.30pm and my wife had to run to get security who had to call for backup. This was the second time we reported noise and gangs of Spanish children teenagers. Noise went on till 230pm running between your caravan pulled out water connection on our pitch at 130pm I had to get ready and repair it. Also constant banging of footballs, well after 11pm at knight, and hitting the caravan and car. Security could only do so much as the campsite had the whole camping site taken over by the Spanish at the weekend Friday to Monday absolutely mad house noisy until 230pm plus especially young gangs. Never received a call from MD after making a official complaint, but will definitely request a refund »

« We loved our stay here, enough to do on site, and lots of sightseeing we wanted to do further afield. A bigger and busier site than we usually stay at, but it had a really nice atmosphere and still relaxed. »

« Great campsite. Good size pitch, shade with trees, pools were great, supermarket decent if a bit pricey. Restaurant food was ok, and service was quick. The burgers from the takeaway were excellent. The only thing not great was the fact that there weren't enough shower rooms at peak times (before dinner) »

« Nice site, great waterpark with plenty of space and sunbeds even in high season . Quite a walk to pool area from premium accommodation, then about km to beach. »
